LAVAL, QC H7T 2T8

Do you know native bee seeds? These are seeds of local flowering plants which, when pollinated, contribute to the production of honey.

In partnership with the City of Laval’s seed library, the Museum will be handing out seeds to visitors for native plants that attract pollinators, during the Easter weekend. The sachets will contain enough seeds to cover one square metre. Citizens will be encouraged to sow them freely.

As part of this special activity, Museum visitors will learn about the ecological importance of the plants that grow around them and understand their beneficial impact in protecting biodiversity.

A botanical experiment comparing the growth of tomato plants grown from seeds that have stayed in space with that of regular plants will also be presented. Do you think you might be able to identify which plants come from the seeds coming from space?

Local honey tastings will also be offered.

This spring, come encourage pollinators and contribute to local biodiversity.

RESERVATION

The Museum’s admission fee will give access, on the indicated dates, to this special activity in addition to the two exhibitions’ visit and participation in a laboratory workshop. Online reservations are recommended.
